Margaret Anita Dennis, 78, of Norwood, passed away Sunday, July 21, 2024, at Spring Arbor of Albemarle.
Anita was born January 27, 1946, in North Carolina to the late Dennie Sasser and the late Roseada Bunn Sasser.
She was also preceded in death by husband, Lonnie Joe Dennis; sister, Pearleene Knight; brother, Dennie Alvin Sasser Jr.; sister, Paulette Dixon; and sister Verona Tootsie Burleson.
Anita was a wonderful wife, sister, mother, and grandmother. She retired as a teacher from Norwood Elementary School where she joyfully taught for nearly 30 years. She also assisted her family in the bookkeeping for the family farm. Anita liked to travel to places such as the mountains and the beach. She also enjoyed cooking and taking care of her many flowers and plants. When she was able, she loved attending church services with her family. Anita has gone on before us to be with her Lord and Savior, and she will be sorely missed by all who knew her.
A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at 11:00 am at Porter Community Cemetery officiated by Pastor David Shankle. Burial will follow at Porter Community Cemetery at 40065 Ta Road, Norwood NC.
Survivors include son, Jody (Deanna) Dennis; grandchildren, Luke, Levi, and Kaitlyn Dennis; sister, Azalia-Gay (Walter) Harkey; sister Monica Garland; brother-in-law, Wayne Knight; and many beloved nieces and nephews.
