Margaret Eileen "Maggie" Draper, 93, decided to say Happy Birthday to Jesus in person on Christmas morning when she passed away peacefully.
Maggie was born on December 14, 1932 in Tefft, Indiana, the daughter of Frank and Alice (Jones) Krug. She was the oldest of 4 sisters. Her mother called them her own "Little Women."
Maggie stayed at home raising her 4 children. She loved vintage movies and their stars and old westerns. Every day at Noon you'd find her watching The Waltons. She enjoyed puzzles and playing bingo. She loved talking to people, and it wasn't long before she knew who their kids were and saw all the pictures of their grandkids.
Maggie is survived by her children, Alanna (Monte) Hensley, Frank Clawson and Mary Alice Clawson (Fred) Roy; step-daughter, Nancy Wright; grandchildren, Andy (Madelyn) Carruth, Chris Clawson, Andy (Yelena) Clawson and Sarah Florea; four great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jack E. Draper; her oldest son Bruce and his wife, Frannie; and three sisters, Lyla Kerns, Janice Schultz and Kathy Kerschbaum.
The last 2 years of her life were lived at Heritage of Yorktown Assisted Living. The family would like to thank the wonderful staff. They were family to her. She loved them all, and she saw that love returned to her.
The family would also like to thank Heart to Heart Hospice. The help they provided navigating this difficult time was very much appreciated.
Graveside Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2025 at Marion National Cemetery in Marion, IN. It is an honor for our mother to be buried here with her husband, Jack.
