Margaret Fassbinder Obituary
Edgerton, WI - Margaret(Marge)K. Fassbinder, 89, of Edgerton passed away peacefully on May 1, 2025 in Hospice Care.
Marge was born on February 29,1936 in Chicago, IL, the daughter of Harry & Marjorie (Lugge) Kennedy.She graduated from Roosevelt High School in Chicago, IL & attended the Whitewater State Teachers College. She was united in marriage with John F. Fassbinder at St. Benedict's Church in Fontana, WI on February 19,1955. Together, John & Marge raised four children; Patricia Anne, Mary Katherine, Robert John, & Jill Anne. Marge was active with her children in many endeavors such as Girl Scouts, 4-H, & numerous athletic seasons. Margaret retired from the Janesville Public School System where she served many years as a teaching assistant in the Title 1 program. Margaret was an active community member, serving as a Board Member for the Humane Society of Southern WI, member of the Edgerton Art Association, Tobacco Heritage Committee, the Edgerton Hospital Auxiliary as well as being a faithful member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church of Edgerton.
Marge's greatest joys were her children, grandchildren, & great-grandchildren. She was an avid lover of animals & spent many years helping to care for them in her home & at the Humane Society of Southern WI. Ceramics & crocheting were just a few of her many interests.
Surviving are her loving family; two daughters, Patricia(Curt) Holman of Hortonville, WI, Jill Schwieters of Madison, WI, daughter-in-law, Kristin (Brett Kehoe) Fassbinder of Oshkosh, WI, son-in-law, Martin Salerno, Stillman Valley, IL; 11 grandchildren Matthew (Rae) Holman, Lee's Summit MO, Melissa (Neil) Lassen, Boulder,CO, Nicole (Matthew) Paladino, Princeton,TX, Elizabeth Salerno, Schaumburg, IL, Lauren (Steve Hall) Schwieters,Chicago IL, John Schwieters, Madison,WI, Timothy Schwieters, Chicago,IL, Logan Fassbinder,Chicago, IL, McKenna Fassbinder,Oneida, WI, Tyler (Kaitlyn) Kehoe, Madison, WI & Turner Kehoe, Madison, WI. Great grandchildren include Brooke & Emma Paladino (Nicole & Matthew), Abby & Montgomery Holman (Matthew & Rae) & Luca & Lily Kehoe (Tyler & Kaitlyn). Marge was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, John, one son, Robert John, & one daughter, Mary Katherine.
Visitation will be held at Apfel-Ehlert Funeral Home in Edgerton from 11:30-12:30pm on Saturday, May 31, 2025 with a ceremony to follow at 12:30pm at the funeral home. Burial will take place that day at St. Joseph's Cemetery in Edgerton.
In lieu of flowers, the family wishes that memorials be made to the Humane Society of Southern WI.
