Margaret T. Foard

Margaret Theresa (DeBaufre) Foard, 97 of Dundalk, Md, passed away peacefully September 23, 2025, at Morningside House of Friendship, Hanover MD.

Margaret was born June 6, 1928, in Baltimore MD, the daughter of Benjaman and Theresa (Clark) DeBaufre. She attended St Katharine's School where she completed their Commercial Program in 1944. Her speed and proficiency in shorthand and typing placed her at the top of her class. Her skills led her to a profession as an administrative assistant. She worked for Baltimore & Ohio Railroad at the Camden Yards Warehouse location. She later worked for several attorneys in Baltimore County. She then transitioned to a position working for the Baltimore County Councils office, where she retired in 1991.

Margaret married Herbert Foard at St Ann's Church, Baltimore MD in June of 1946. In 1951 they purchased a house on McShane Way in Dundalk which she made her home for over 70 years. They remained married until his death in June of 1972. In her free time, she especially loved duck pin bowling. She was a league bowler at Pinland in Dundalk for over 40 years and continued bowling until she was 95 participating in a number of women's leagues. When she wasn't bowling you could find her riding roller coasters or taking road trips to Wildwood New Jersey with her beloved sisters and sister in-law. She was known by many for her famous Christmas sugar cookies and delicious cakes.

Remaining to cherish Margaret is her beloved son Herbert (Caren). She is survived by three grandchildren, Angela Kiser (Randy), Laura Mercadante (Nicholas), and Alexander Foard and three great grandchildren, Dominic and Leah Mercadante and Prescott Kiser. She leaves her sibling Catherine Trent (Jim) along with numerous special nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her spouse Herbert, her parents Benjaman and Theresa, her sisters Viola Johnson, Marie Richter, Helen Myers, Joyce Adams and brother Leonard DeBaufre.

Visitation will be held October 1st from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Duda-Ruck Funeral Home of Dundalk Inc. 7922 Wise Avenue Dundalk Md. A Catholic mass will take place October 2, 2025, 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Hope Church, 1727 Lynch Road, Dundalk MD.

The family would like to thank the staff at Morningside House of Friendship, Hanover MD, for the love and care they have shown Margaret over the final years of her life. We would also like to thank Hospice of the Chesapeake for their care and compassion in her final days.
