Margaret Elizabeth Hill "Maggie or Oma", 96 of St. Augustine, Florida died peacefully on Monday, November 3, 2025, at Flagler Hospital after suffering a heart attack.
Maggie was born in 1929 in Baltimore, Maryland to Olive and Willam Goldbeck. She was the second oldest of four daughters: Florence, Olive and Nancy. Maggie attended Forest Park High School, participating in field hockey, volleyball and was a state tennis champion. In addition, she was a member of glee club and student council. Taking the streetcar to museums, concerts and libraries in Baltimore and Washington, DC with her sisters filled Maggie's insatiable appetite for knowledge and adventure. Dan L Hill, USMC. Maggie and Dan married on December 28, 1953, in Baltimore, Maryland.
Maggie always rose to the challenges of moving her military family of 6. She enjoyed traveling the world, bowling, and serving her community. Maggie devoted forty years of service to the American Red Cross, countless hours to her Catholic Parish, preparing lunches for the Migrant Farm Workers Union, years of service to the Ladies Guild of Our Lady of Good Counsel to name just a few. She lived her Catholic faith to the fullest extent and touched all that encountered her in a positive way. You were guaranteed to laugh when Maggie was around, her sharp whit will be a lasting legacy we will never forget.
Maggie is survived by her children: Charlene Hill-Thomas, Jeanine Hill-Soldner, Susan McLendon, and Sharon Sprenger, grandchildren: Michael McLendon, Dominique Thomas, Sara Blackstone, Andy Thomas, Kenny McLendon, Ana Thomas, Adam McLendon, Michelle Enerson, Alex Soldner, Great-grandchildren: Mason Blackstone, Olivia Turner, Kealyn McLendon, Owen Blackstone, Joseph Turner, Wyatt McLendon, Cecelia Turner, Will Enerson, Madeline Turner, Xavier McLendon, Austin McLendon, Dorothy Turner, and sister Florence Stevens (98 years young).
