MARGARET HJALMQUIST Obituary

Margaret M. Hjalmquist passed away on Monday, February 13, 2017. She was born on August 9, 1927 in Los Angeles, California and moved at age one to El Paso, where she grew up and attended Austin High School. Margaret was a devoted and involved mother to her three children. She was active as an adult leader in Girl Scouts, PTA at various schools, Park Foothills Garden Club, Lutheran Women's Missionary League and many organizations at Zion Lutheran Church. After her children were grown, Margaret became a licensed real estate agent. Margaret is survived by her three children: John (Susan) Hjalmquist, Debbie (Mark) Scioli and Eric (Monique) Hjalmquist, seven grandchildren: Tyler, Trevor and Connor Hjalmquist, Mark Jr. and Jaqueline Scioli, and Brittany and Caroline Hjalmquist. Funeral service at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, February 17, 2017 at Ascension Lutheran Church at 6520 Loma de Cristo, followed by internment at Restlawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to Ascension Lutheran Church or El Paso Humane Society.
