Margaret Beth Hooks (Plainview)

Margaret Beth Hooks, 87, of Plainview passed away on March 15, 2026. A visitation will be held at Kornerstone Funeral Directors on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, from 5:00pm to 7:00pm.

A graveside ceremony will be held on Wednesday, March 18, 2026 at 11:00A.M. at Parklawn Memorial Gardens. 

Margaret was born on April 14, 1938, in Milford, Texas to J.O. and Loraine Tenery. She moved to Plainview with her family as a young child, attended Plainview Public Schools, and graduated from Plainview High School in 1955. Also in 1955, Margaret met the love of her life, Raymond Hooks, at the Plainview Roller Rink and they married on January 14, 1956. Before his death in 2018, they owned and operated Hooks Cycle Sales for over 35 years, servicing customers who became like family; true lifelong friends. They enjoyed a full life, pursuing motorcycling, camping, fishing, and traveling to car shows throughout West Texas after retirement. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and Meemaw who loved her family and absolutely adored her grandchildren.

Margaret is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond; her parents J.O. and Loraine Tenery and her brother Earl Tenery. Margaret is survived by her son, Danny and wife Melissa of Plainview; daughter; Janet Hooks, of Nolanville, Texas. Three grandchildren; Daniel Hooks of Frisco, Texas, Meagan, and husband Jeremy of Lubbock, Texas, and Jayce and wife Emily of Maplewood, New Jersey. Four great-grandchildren; Gaven Hooks, Xander Hooks, Fox Beasley, Caiden Simpson and Case Simpson; her nephew Randy Tenery and niece Darla Reece.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Plainview Meals on Wheels.
