Margaret Thomasine Hunter

Margaret Thomasine Hunter (Tommie) left this world peacefully on November 9, 2025, at the age of 86 with her family by her side. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend whose kindness, strength, and unwavering love touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Born on November 19, 1938, in Quitman TX, she grew up with a warm spirit and a generous heart that guided her throughout her life. She built a home filled with love, laughter, and encouragement, always putting her family first and supporting them through every milestone and challenge.
She spent her career as a Manager at Southland Life Insurance Company, where she was admired for her dedication, compassion, and work ethic. Outside of her work, she found joy in spending time with her family, shopping with her best friend, Peggy, and making friendship bread for neighbors and friends (and pretty much anyone who came to her front door). She cherished time spent with her family most of all. She was also a faithful member of Edgemont Park Baptist Church for many years where she developed lifelong
friendships.
She is survived by her two children, Tony Hunter and Tammy Creekmore and husband, Don; granddaughters Camiron Hendricks, husband Kevin and Lane Escobedo, husband Juan, grandsons Jason and Justin Creekmore; great-grandchildren, Hunter Hendricks, Parker Hendricks, Rayleigh Escobedo, Hallie Escobedo and Atticus Escobedo, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts. She is preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Archie Hunter; her parents Herman and Laura Banks and 3 siblings - Arvin Banks, Arlis Banks, and Christine Kerzee.
Her life will be honored at Laurel Oaks Funeral Home, 12649 Lake June Rd., Mesquite, TX 75180 on Saturday, November 15 at 1:00 p.m. Visitation will be held at Laurel Oaks on Friday, November 14 at 5:00 p.m. where family and friends are invited to gather in remembrance and celebration of a life so beautifully lived.
Our Mom will be remembered for her warmth, her wisdom, and the quiet strength with which she lived her life. Her legacy of love will continue to guide us always.
