It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Jackson, who left this world on November 14, 2025, at the age of 91, following a courageous battle with Parkinson's disease. Margaret was born on June 24, 1934, in Conway, Missouri, the cherished daughter of James Ephraim Manning and Vera Jo Roper. She was a beacon of love and light to all who knew her and is survived by her loving family and countless friends.
Margaret's journey through life was wonderfully interconnected with that of her husband, Richard Lowell Jackson. They were united in marriage on January 22, 1956, in St. Louis, Missouri. Richard fell in love with Margaret at first sight as a young boy, and over the years, Margaret's love for him blossomed and deepened, creating a bond that was truly extraordinary. Together they built a family and a life filled with memories.
Margaret dedicated herself to education, serving as a beloved teacher of kindergarten and first grade. Her passion for nurturing young minds was evident in the joy she radiated while teaching. She took immense pride in her work, and her students always remembered her as a kind, caring, and inspiring mentor.
In addition to her professional accomplishments, Margaret was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She is survived by her children: Daniel (Sherry) Jackson, Thomas (Sally Krisel) Jackson, Ron Jackson, and Suzannah (Jonathan) Moore. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren: Jackson (Erik Cameron) Moore, Delaney (Dean Hoebbel) Krisel, Callahan Moore, Cameron Moore, Gigi Moore, Michael Moore, Ben (LaRaina) Patrick, Nick (Spencer) Patrick, and Brianna Mata. Margaret was also blessed with great-grandchildren: Marco Spangler, Mila Spangler, Indie Patrick, Rowan Patrick, Madeleina Peterson, Amara Moore, and Dempsey Krisel. Sisters Sue Bruns, Jennie Labine, and Debbie Pierson.
Margaret was particularly known for her warm spirit and loving nature. She accepted everyone with open arms and made every person feel like family, no matter how they entered her life. Her kindness and compassion knew no bounds, and she touched the hearts of many. She was a proud member of the P.E.O. International, an organization dedicated to motivating and uplifting women. Her commitment to community service shone through her involvement with the First Presbyterian Church in Cedar Rapids, where she contributed her time and talents generously.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Richard Lowell Jackson, and her dear daughter, Kathy Lynn Jackson, and sister, Mary Davis. Each of these losses left an indelible mark on her heart, yet she carried their memory with grace and love.
The family wishes to express their gratitude to the Meth-Wick Community, where Margaret found friendship and warmth, as well as to the dedicated employees who provided her with care and companionship during her later years.
Funeral services will be held at a later time, with the specific date to be announced. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to
