Margaret Mae Klette, 78, passed away in the early morning hours on January 27, 2025, of natural causes.

Private family services will be held. Further information will be undisclosed.

Margaret Mae Klette was born in Lewiston, Idaho, on May 24, 1946, to David and Grace Bamberry. She was the youngest of four children.

After graduating from high school, she married for the first time to Bill Cowin. Sadly, the marriage shortly ended, after which Mae decided to enlist in the armed service. Her first desire was to enlist with the Air Force but decided to join the Army, where she bravely served this country for 19 years. She was fortunate to travel extensively while she served her country. During this time, she married once again and had a son. This marriage was also short-lived.

After the end of her second marriage, Mae was honorably discharged from the Army, but she chose to continue her service in the Reserves. It was during this time, in 1988, that she met and married the love of her life. Her marriage to Darrel Klette lasted until her death—35 years. They had made a loving home in the Sweet Grass region of Montana, where they remained for the entirety of their marriage.

After her tenure in the Reserves, Mae joined the National Guard of Havre, Montana, where she remained until retirement in 2006. During her years of retirement, she spent time with her husband reading and expanding their various collections.

After years of battling Alzheimer's Disease, she spent the last couple of months in a skilled nursing program with her husband at her side.

Margaret Mae Klette is preceded in death by both her parents, an older brother, and an older sister. She is survived by her loving husband, Darrel Klette, stepson James (Kimberly) Klette, step-grandchildren MacKenzie Klette and Aiden Klette, her estranged son, and her brother Dan (Mary Jane) Bamberry.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests privacy and trees planted in her honor.
