Margaret Yvonne Kuder

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Weskan Bible Church in Weskan, KS. Burial will follow in the Greeley County Cemetery in Tribune, KS. Visitation will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025 from 5-7 pm at the Brown Funeral Home Chapel in Cheyenne Wells, CO. Memorial contributions should be made to the Margaret Kuder Memorial Fund in care of any Eastern Colorado Bank Location.

Margaret Yvonne Kuder was born near Seward, Kansas on July 9th, 1930 to Clifton and Helen Walter in their home South of Great Bend. She was delivered by her Grand Mother Lucy Lacey Walter. She passed on July 22, 2025 in Weskan, Kansas at home. She had just celebrated her 95th birthday less than two weeks prior.

Her senior year of high school, her family moved to Tribune, Kansas where she met her partner for life Lavern Kuder. They were married shortly after their graduation and homesteaded on the Wallace/Greeley County line. They quickly started a family while raising crops and livestock. They embraced irrigation early and expanded the farm over the following decades.

Margaret enjoyed wintering on fishing trips down at the gulf before they found snow birding in Arizona where she enjoyed square dancing, rock hunting, crafts and games with Lavern and their friends. Margaret always loved reading westerns and crocheting.

Margaret had 5 children, 20 Grand Children, 48 Great Grand Children, and 5 Great Great Grand Children or 78 descendants at the time of her passing. Her first son John married Sally and they had 2 sons Paul and Tim before he was lost at sea in the US Navy. Her second son William was still born. Her third son Richard was married to Evelyn and they had John, Christopher & Crystal; he also had Gene, Keith and Holly with is second wife Kathy. Her only daughter Terresa was married to Gene Hackerott and they had Bonnie, Jeremiah and Jaclyn. Her youngest son Merlin and his wife Shirley had 9 children, Andrew, Steven, Kevin, Merlin Jeffery, Bryan, Isaac, Abe, Scott and Katelynn.
