Margaret LaMONTAGNE Obituary

LaMONTAGNE, Margaret Of Natick, passed away at the age of 85 on June 13, 2024. She was the beloved partner of the late John J. "Jack" Skinner. Loving daughter of the late Leo and Nora (Lee Keane) LaMontagne. Also survived by her many loving cousins and cherished friends.

Margaret valued education, as noted in her own proud career and educational pursuits. Margaret's career in nursing started after obtaining a degree from Georgetown University, where she remained close to the friends she made there. We would like to thank her friends for their enduring friendships throughout the years. Margaret went on to obtain a Master's Degree at Boston University and, subsequently, wove a degree from Suffolk Law School into her many years as the Director of Nursing at Peter Bent Brigham Hospital in Boston. Being the daughter of two librarians, Margaret had a love for books, as she was often found reading more than one at any given moment. Margaret's endearing fondness for animals stemmed from her childhood with her family dogs and countless wonderful hours riding horses. Margaret's love of the arts was evident in the way she would meander through art museums and often catch a play or symphony. When asked, Margaret would say some of her favorite times in her life were summers spent at Goose Rocks Beach with her mother, aunts and cousins. Margaret enjoyed finishing a cross stitch while sitting on the beach and taking long walks to the river. She especially enjoyed a ruckus game of UNO and celebrating her birthday with her cousins to cap off the summer. While there, her love of the arts was often satisfied by a trip or two to the Ogunquit Playhouse; keeping that tradition well into her 80's. Margaret enjoyed many wonderful summers in Wolfeboro, NH, where she spent time with good friends and John. Margaret's strong and consistent companion was her faith, which sustained her through the many joys and challenges of life.

I met Margaret in 2007 while we reviewed medical records at various hospitals. We would visit her on 4th of July in Wolfeboro. Just checking up on her and daw I missed her passing. Love and prayers to her family and friends.

Our families have the same week in Wolfeboro and her and John will be missed again this summer. No more spot saver in their parking spot. That always made me smile thinking how winter parking in Dorchester would produce these same spot savers
