Margaret "Peggy" C. Leander, age 84 of New Ulm died peacefully on Sunday, July 21, 2024, at the New Ulm Medical Center in New Ulm.
A private family burial service will be held at the Angora Hillside Cemetery in Angora, Minnesota.
The Minnesota Valley Funeral Homes of New Ulm are assisting the family with arrangements at this time.

Peggy is survived by her daughters, Kristie (Steve Thronson) Mitchell of Carver, Becky Leander of New Ulm; her son, Keith (Dawnell) Leander of Ramsey; and her grandchildren, Jordan Leander, Ashley Leander, and Luke Mitchell.
She was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Wallace "Wally" Leander in 2002.
Margaret "Peggy" Christine Burke was born July 20, 1940, in Duluth, Minnesota to Peter and Margaret (Chalman) Burke. Growing up in Duluth, Peggy was a 1958 graduate from Duluth East High School, and later attended college at the University of Minnesota-Duluth. Peggy was united in marriage to Wallace "Wally" Leander on January 8, 1966, at the Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Duluth. This union blessed the couple with two daughters and a son whom together they predominantly raised in Thief River Falls. Wally and Peggy later moved to New Ulm in 1986. While living in New Ulm, Peggy worked at Hardees and Cash Wise. Besides her work, Peggy enjoyed sharing her gift for quilting with others and also working with her hands in her garden. She will be forever remembered for her strong, loving, and generous heart. May these memories, and countless others forever stay in the hearts and minds of all who loved her. Blessed be her memory.
