Margaret Rutledge LeCount was born on July 9th, 1930 to the late Mr. Theodore and RosaLee Brooks Rutledge. She attended school in Duval County.
She was a faithful usher at Abyssinia Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late PastorTom E. Diamond until her health issues. After that she went to visit occasionally at Disciples of Christ with her family when able. She would not relinquish her membership to Abyssinia because she loved her church home.
Margaret transitioned from death to life on Thursday, April 3rd, 2025 under the care of Community Hospice and Palliative Care, where she was surrounded by her loving family. She was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, and two grandsons.
Margaret loved her children: Peggy Rease, RosaLee Garner, Phyllis Payne (Donald), Pastor Robert LeCount Jr.
(Dinah).
Her devoted grandchildren: Darlene Allen (Ricardo), Daysha Benjamin (Tony), Latrickia Tillie, Pastor Philip Mercer (Kia), Trey Jowrey, Willie Singleton (Tonette), Clyde, Amanda, Jessica.
A host of great grandchildren: Reginald (Tyra), Tony Jr (Brittney), Deshawn, Diamond, Joshua (Janya), Myazihia, Jarmard, Artey'Ja, Robert III, Zacchaeus, Philip Jr., Janelle, London, Kyrie, Ryan.
Great great grandchild: Reginald Jr.
Margaret leaves to cherish memories of her brother, James Rutledge (Minerva); sisters-in-law, Iretha Taylor and Selma Rutledge.
A host of loving nieces and nephews.
And a Loving God daughter: Nancy Scott.
