Margaret M. Murnane

Margaret M. Murnane (nee Sullivan), age 91, longtime Beverly resident and most recently a resident of Mercy Circle, passed away on December 6, 2025. Beloved wife of the late Philip "Mick." Loving mother of Timothy (Sarah). Proud Grandma to Katherine (Matthew) Korte, Anne, Matthew, Mary and William and great-grandma to Wren and Eve Korte. Loving sister to John P. (Judy) Sullivan, the late Patricia (the late William) Roach, the late Maureen (the late Ralph) Richards, and the late William (Noreen) Sullivan. Fond aunt of many nieces and nephews. Margaret attended Longwood Academy and Saint Mary-of-the-Woods College, and she was an adored kindergarten teacher in Oak Lawn School District 123 for 37 years. She had an uncanny ability to remember the names and faces of nearly all of her students years later. Margaret cherished any time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren and loved sharing stories about them. She enjoyed time at her lake home in Long Beach, Indiana, and, in earlier years, traveling with a close group of teacher friends. Margaret will be remembered for her beautiful backyard, love of gray cats and jigsaw puzzles, and her annual hors d'oeuvres and desserts Christmas party.
Memorial visitation Saturday, December 27, 2025, 9:30a.m. at St. John Fisher Church, 10234 S. Washtenaw Ave., Chicago, IL 60655 until the time of memorial mass 11:00 a.m. Interment private.
