Margaret Jacqueline Petershagen

Margaret Jacqueline Petershagen, 76, of Jefferson City passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024. She was born September 22, 1947 in Jefferson City a daughter of Arthur and Lucille (Harris) Smith. She married Joe Donald Petershagen September 20, 1980.
She was a graduate from the Jefferson City High School. She received her college degree in Computer programming. She worked for more than twenty years at Scholastics in Jefferson City. She was a long-time owner of the American Veteran's bar when it was located off of Route CC. She enjoyed playing candy crush, going on vacations, relaxing, watching television, barbequing, and loved her animals. Most of all she enjoyed time she spent with her family and friends.
She is survived by her son, Joe (Heather); stepson, Mickey; grandchildren, Juanita (Logan), Candic, and Joseph; great-grandchildren, Lillee Klebba. She was preceded in death by her husband Joe; son, William Edwin Smith; and brother, Ross.

Friends will be received from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 14, 2024, at Houser-Millard Funeral Directors. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 p.m. Burial will be at Hawthorn Memorial Gardens.
