Margaret Prisock joined God's Heavenly Host on August 31, 2025. She was born in Melbourne, Arkansas, on June 12, 1947, to Reverend Cecil and Sarah Rowland Hicks.
She graduated from Louisville High School with honors where she was an outstanding basketball player and earned the title of most valuable player and team captain. She fell in love with Samuel Prude Prisock and married him in 1968. They were married 50 years and 53 days before she lost him to cancer. They had two daughters, Lynn and Cristy. Margaret went on to graduate with honors from Mississippi State University in 1970 and began a career in banking with Security State Bank. After going through six mergers and working in banking for 49 years, she retired in 2019 as a first vice president with CB and S Bank. She loved her customers and treated each person with care and respect, and they loved her also. Even up to the end of her life, she was told how much she was missed at the bank. She was a member of Adaton Baptist Church and was involved in church activities until her cancer treatments prevented her from being able to be among crowds.
Over the years, she taught Sunday School, was pianist and served on various committees. She loved music – especially playing the piano. She played for her first church wedding when she was 16. She was known for playing for weddings. Over the years, her name became synonymous with providing music for weddings, funerals, banquets and other events. Her favorite position was being church pianist for several churches. Her most memorable time was playing piano and organ duets with Nina Welch for many years at Calvary Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by half siblings: Waymon Hicks, Marlon Hicks, Weldon Hicks and Lois Johnson. She is survived by her daughters Lynn Prisock and Cristy Prisock, her grandson Ronald "Tre" Bereit, III, her sister-in-law Ellen Prisock, several nieces and nephews, her church family and a host of friends.
Honorary pallbearers are the Ladies Joy and Faith Sunday School classes.
Her final prayer was for you to accept Jesus as Savior if you haven't already so you will have the assurance of eternal life with Him.
