Margaret Horsley Reed of Lynchburg, Va. departed this life on Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the age of 90, at the Forest Health and Rehabilitation Center of Lynchburg, Va.
She attended Amherst County Public Schools and she was employed with the Community of Aging Group. She was born on July 17, 1933 to the late Webster and Lucille Horsley. She was married to the late James W. Reed.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Clayton Horsley, sisters, Nancy McCray and Lucille Horsley, and great granddaughter, London H. Thompson. She is survived by eleven children. Warren (Sue) Horsley of Lynchburg Va., Smiley (Audrey) Horsley of Manasses Va., James Reed, Charles (Lisa) Reed, Peyton (Rachetta) Reed, Thomas Reed, Patrick Reed, Robert (Annie) Reed of Lynchburg Va., and Clifford Reed of Monroe Va. Two daughters, Edna Horsley and Sandra (William) Mitchell of Lynchburg Va. A special son John Uerdinella. She is also survived by one sister, Dorothy Franklin of Killeen Texas. Two brothers, Webster Horsley of Monroe Va. and David Horsley of Lynchburg Va. She is also survived by over fifty grandchildren and a very large number of great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, and a host of nieces, great nieces, nephews, and great nephews.
A service will be held on Monday, October 30, 2023, at 1 P.M. at Tree of Life Ministries, Lynchburg, Virginia.
