Margaret "Maggie" Elaine Reiland passed away on August 8, 2025, in Des Moines, Iowa. A celebration of life gathering will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, August 15, 2025, at Iles Dunn's Chapel in Des Moines. Maggie will be interred in Iowa Veteran's Cemetery at a later date.

Maggie was born on June 21, 1947, in Mason City, Iowa to Leo and Alice (McNitt) Heidenreich. She married Roger Reiland in Anchorage, Alaska on May 17, 1969. They eventually made their way to Des Moines in 1973, where they would spend their lives together. Roger affectionately referred to Maggie as "The Queen."

She worked for John Deere Credit Union as a manager of the Leasing Department, retiring after more than 25 years of faithful service. Maggie also found great joy being a Mary Kay Consultant. To her this was not a job, but a way of connecting and meeting new friends. Maggie not only loved the people in her life, but she also adored dogs. Her favorite dog was a Soft Coated Wheaten named "RazzBearEe."

Maggie lived life to the fullest and always enjoyed being with her friends and family. She cherished the many family get togethers at Lake of the Ozarks with her nieces and nephews. Other vacation times were spent traveling in one of their Studebakers, making new friends wherever they went. As much as they loved travelling, Maggie and Roger were also content sitting on the deck listening to the I-Cubs or the Hawkeyes. On many occasions, an impromptu deck party would occur when their neighbors would stop over. Often there were more people than deck space. She always loved those parties.

Maggie is survived by her husband, Roger; daughter, Shellie; granddaughter, Jessica; great grandson, Reiland J; sister, Kathy; and many nieces, nephews, brothers and sisters in-law; as well as countless lifelong friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and a brother, Robert.

Memorial contributions in Maggie's name may be directed to Animal Rescue League of Iowa, Mercy One Des Moines Diabetes and Endocrinology Care, or St. Theresa's Catholic School.
