Margaret Riha Obituary
June 14, 1951 - February 20, 2025
Peggy Riha passed away on February 20 of complications from Lewy Body Dementia. A native of Bismarck, Peggy moved to the Twin Cities to attend college at what was then called The College of St. Catherine, in St. Paul. She graduated with degrees in Library Science and English. She then attended graduate school at the University of Wisconsin, where she earned her master's degree in Library Science. She had a full career as a librarian at several libraries in the Twin Cities.
Peggy is survived by her husband, Val Burdick, his sons Charles and Rob, Charles' wife Christy Haynes, and their two children, Clark and Charlie. She is also survived by her sister Patti (Apple Valley, MN) and her brother Richard (Bismarck). Predeceasing Peggy are her parents, Emil and Peggy.
Memorials may be sent to St. Catherine University, 2004 Randolph Avenue, St. Paul, MN 55105, or the Humane Society.
Mass of Christian Burial 11:00 AM (visitation at 10:00 AM) Wednesday, March 26 at St. Odilia Catholic Church, 3495 Victoria Street North, Shoreview, MN, followed by interment in the St. Odilia Prayer Garden and a luncheon. The service will also be live-streamed for those who cannot attend but wish to view it.
