Margaret "Midge" Smith

Margaret "Midge" (Bishop) Smith, 95, of Latrobe, passed away Feb. 11, 2026, at home. She was born May 9, 1930, in Latrobe, to the late Charles H. and Sally (Gordon) Bishop. She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, a former member of Sacred Heart Parish, Youngstown; member of Holy Family Rosary Altar Society; Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 221 of which she was a Past Worthy Matron; a charter member of the Tony Angelo F.O.E. 01188 Auxillary; and the St. Joseph Social Club. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, James V. "Pud" Smith in 2007, and a sister Ellen Stouffer. She is survived by two children, a son, Thomas G. Smith and his wife, Letitia, of Phoenix; a daughter, Janet Bunch (Ed Butina) of Latrobe; four grandchildren, James Robert Bunch, Sean, Crystal and Wyonna Smith; and a great-granddaughter, Alexandra Scarlett Bunch; and a special friend and companion Norman Black. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, 2026, at the FREDERICK FUNERAL HOME INC., 1543 Ligonier St., Latrobe, PA 15650. A funeral service will be held Monday, Feb 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Derry.
