Margaret Weathers Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Epting Funeral Home - Bentonville from Nov. 27 to Nov. 28, 2022.
Margaret Louverta Walton Siemens Weathers was born on August 21,

1925, in Camp Crook, South Dakota, the fourth of six children, to homesteaders

W.G. & Myrtle (Gilbert) Walton. She went to be with the Lord at the age of 97 on

November 22, 2022, in Rogers, Arkansas.

In 1947, Margaret graduated with a music degree from John Brown

University, where she met Walt Siemens, her husband of nearly 38 years. They

lived in Oklahoma, South Dakota, and Kansas, where they raised nine children. In

1969, the family moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, where Margaret lived for

over 45 years.

Margaret's JBU college experience allowed her to meet many lifelong

friends. Later, as a JBU faculty wife, she welcomed numerous students and

families into her home.

Margaret's special ministries included prayer (family, missionaries,

community), teaching (Sunday school, Bible studies), missions (supporting and

hosting missionaries), and church activities. She was personally involved in a

number of ministries, including Child Evangelism Fellowship, Bible Memory

Association, John Brown University, Byron Bible Camp, Wycliffe Bible Translators,

and Gideons International.

As a homemaker, Margaret was an excellent seamstress, cook, and

gardener. She canned much of the family's produce. One of her passions in life

was hospitality – particularly inviting people into her home and cooking for them.

Margaret enjoyed music and was a piano teacher for over 50 years. She

composed many songs and was church pianist for years. She also enjoyed reading

and writing, composing poetry and short stories. She was president of the Siloam

Springs Writers Guild for 11 years.

Margaret was preceded in death by her parents; husband Walt Siemens

(married 1947-1985) and husband Rogene Weathers (married 1997-2003); sisters

Evelyn Walton Friend Loomis, Gilberta Walton Lueders, Viola Walton Whitmore;

brother Ernie Walton; and son Don Siemens.

She is survived by her sister Freda Walton Clements and husband Phil;

daughter-in-law Cindi Siemens; her children Walta Siemens Hattaway and

husband Jim; Rosanne Siemens Redditt and husband Dan; Dan Siemens and wife

Marilyn; Lyn Siemens Spencer and husband Ben; Doug Siemens and wife Julia;

David Siemens and wife Holly; Jan Siemens Kimball and husband David; Dwight

Siemens and wife Jenifer; 35 grandchildren; and 18 great-grandchildren.

Above all, Margaret loved her Lord and Savior. Her daily walk with God and

her love for others resulted in many seeking her out as a wise counselor and

faithful friend. She was careful to give godly, Biblical advice which always began

with the individual's relationship with Jesus Christ.

It was Margaret's wish to have her body donated for educational and

medical research. A memorial service to celebrate Margaret's life will be held on

Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 11 a.m. at Siloam Springs Bible Church, 927 South

Oak Hill Street, Siloam Springs, Arkansas.

Memorial donations may be made to Gideons International, Wycliffe Bible

Translators, and Byron Bible Camp (South Dakota).

I remember mostly how pMrs. Siemens loved to play the piano at Byron Bible Camp and how she sat me down and talked to me about God on several evening's there. She has made a BIG positive influence in my life.

So, my sincerest sympathy goes out to the entire Siemens family.
