Margaret Gail Wilson was born on February 12, 1952, in Hattiesburg, Mississippi, to James and Nettie Dyess. A graduate of Bassfield High School, she served as a devoted teaching assistant at Carver Elementary School in Bassfield for nearly 30 years. During her many years at Carver Elementary School, she touched the lives of countless students and co-workers alike. Her dedication to education was evident in her commitment to creating a warm, encouraging environment for young learners. Margaret’s influence can still be felt throughout the school, and her fingerprint remains on many of the lives she taught.

Beyond her professional achievements, her greatest joy was expressed through her roles as a wife and mother to her two beloved sons. The arrival of her grandchildren expanded her heart even further, and they quickly became the center of her world. Margaret had an unparalleled joy in showering them with love and gifts, often indulging in shopping trips specifically to find the perfect treasures for each grandchild.

Her home was a sanctuary filled with love, warmth, and joy, serving as a gathering place for family. Fond memories were created within its walls, especially during the holiday celebrations that she meticulously organized. Margaret's attention to detail ensured that every child and grandchild felt appreciated and special, highlighting her unwavering love and dedication to her family.

Mrs. Wilson was a member of the L.L. Roberts Memorial Methodist Church in Bassfield.

She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Nettie Dyess; her brother, David Dyess; and her sister-in-law, Debbie Dyess.

Her memory will forever be cherished by her beloved husband of 57 years, Glenn Wilson of Bassfield; her sons, Tony Wilson (Michelle) and Todd Wilson, both of Hattiesburg, and her brothers, Danny Dyess (Denise) of Sumrall, and Billy Dyess, of Meridian. The legacy of their Nana will also live on through her grandchildren, Brent Wilson, Rhett Wilson, Carley Jacobs, Lily Wilson, and her great-grandson, Marcus Jacobs.
