Margarette Diane DeVane Pitts, 77 years of age, went home to be with her lord and savior on Thursday, December 18, 2025. Momma D, as she liked to be called, was born on August 16, 1948. The eldest daughter of Helen Louise and Ray Jackson Pitts. She had three brothers and two sisters, all of whom had passed before her.
She is survived by two sons, Michael Paul DeVane(56) and Brian Gene DeVane(52). She has three grandchildren who loved her dearly; December Misty Brianna DeVane Wilson, Adrianne Reice DeVane, and Ronald Wade DeVane. She was often referred to as the “cool aunt” to many nieces and nephews. She never met a stranger and always had a warm smile as well as a hug or helping hand for those in need. She also had a quick wit and a fast switch to those who needed one too.
We say our worldly goodbyes to Momma D with the faith that will one day be united again in heaven. We say goodbye for now, we love you and miss you.
No services have been planned for Ms. DeVane at this time. Condolences may be shared online at www.mclanecares.com. Carson McLane.
