Margarita Aviles

With the spirit of a resilient palm tree and the humor of a mischievous parrot, Margarita Aviles, fondly known as Margie, has taken her final bow on the stage of life on February 11, 2026. Born in the verdant hills of Comerío, Puerto Rico on December 11, 1950, Margie was always a bright star among her peers. Her infectious laugh, courage, and spirited personality were her defining traits, making her a beloved figure in her community of Springfield, Massachusetts.

In her lifetime, Margie had many roles – a daughter, a sister, a wife, a mother, a grandmother, and a homemaker. She leaves behind her husband, Wilfredo Aviles, daughters Joanna Aviles and Vanessa Leonor Aviles, son Efrain Aviles, and her grandchildren Janelle Felix, Darian Felix, Adrian Lopez, Nicholas Lopez, Yitiana Aviles and Efrain Yahir Aviles. Her siblings Ramon Morales and Ana Rivera will fondly remember their courageous sister who was always the life of the party. Margie was preceded in death by her parents, Ramon and Cirila Morales, her sister Hilda Morales, and her son Wilfredo Jr.

Her resilience in the face of adversity, her infectious humor that lifted spirits, and her unwavering courage will forever be remembered by all who knew her. Please join us in celebrating the life of Margarita Aviles. A viewing will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026 at 9:00 AM MST at Puerta Del Cielo Funeral Home, 730 State Street, Springfield, Massachusetts. Interment will take place at 11:30 AM EST at Oak Grove Cemetery of Springfield Inc., 426 Bay Street, Springfield, Massachusetts.
