It is with deep love and gratitude that we announce our beloved parents, Jack Criddle, age 101, who passed on June 13th, 2021 & Marge Criddle who joined their eternal rest on January 30th, 2025 at age 104. Together, they lived remarkable lives and shared a bond that exemplified devotion, love and resilience. Though 3 years apart in their passing, their legacy continues to inspire us all.
Jack Criddle was the youngest child of 3 born born on December 12th, 1919 in Freeport, Illinois to Fred & Angenette Criddle. He lived a life marked by hard work, kindness, generosity and a zest for life. He had a love for sports and farming along with a desire to always help others.
Marge Criddle was the middle child of 13 born on July 5, 1920 in Gratiot, Wisconsin to Charles and Francis McCoy. Her commitment to our family, her hard work and her heart of gold left a mark on all of us.
The love and bond shared between Jack & Marge was an inspiration to us all who had the privilege of knowing them. Their marriage reflected the values they instilled in their 4 children: love, respect and compassion for others. Through good times and bad, their bond remained unwavering throughout their lives.
They were blessed with 4 children, Gary Criddle (Betty), Mary Ann Akey (Gordon), Randy Criddle (Teresa) & Dean Criddle (Janet). 8 Grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren & 2 great-great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 am on 2/5/25 at the St. John United Church of Christ in Freeport with Reverend Hank Fairman, Pastor officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to time of service.
Burial will be at the Oakland Cemetery followed by a reception at the church. A memorial fund is being established in Jack & Marge Criddle’s names for the Feed the Children organization as our Mom had a deep passion for ensuring that children never went hungry and to Heartland Hospice.
