Margie Williams Peeler Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Blyth Funeral Home & Cremation Services - Greenwood from Dec. 2 to Dec. 3, 2025.
Margie Loreen Williams Peeler, 98, resident of Greenwood and widow of Clifford Peeler, passed away Sunday, November 30, 2025, at Self Regional Healthcare.
Born April 22, 1927, in Anderson, she was the daughter of the late Roy Dover Williams and Prudence Genie Rumsey Williams. She was a graduate of Anderson Girls High School, where she played basketball. Margie attended Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for over 60 years and was also a member of "The Ladies Moose Club" in Greenwood. She managed the Ladies Outlet in the former Blakedale Shopping Center and also volunteered at Self Memorial Hospital, where she ran the "Cheer Cart" with her good friend, Minnie Horton.
Margie completed classes at Piedmont Technical College in cooking, baking, and cake decorating, and constantly loved decorating and redecorating her house. She also played piano by ear. Margie was once an avid bowler. She enjoyed "Search A Word" puzzles every day to keep her mind sharp. She loved learning and sharing her own stories with others. She often said that had she furthered her education, she would have become a pediatric nurse because of her deep love for children. Margie had a zest for life, loved her family deeply, and enjoyed making jokes and bringing laughter to others. Every day with her was filled with joy, and she was truly a delight to be around. Margie's longtime friend, Billy Bear, described her perfectly in the following quote: "The golden life should be to die young at a very old age."
Surviving are two daughters, Sandra Kerhoulas-Moser of Greenwood and Rebecca Duva Trotter of Columbia; four grandchildren, Pete Kerhoulas, Laurie Kerhoulas-Brown (Michael), Scott Trotter (Nikki), and Jessica Wallace Ray (Jason); three great-grandchildren, Kendall Jordan, Carson Trotter (Ashley), and Bailey Tatum (Ryan); and two great-great-grandchildren, Koven Brodie and Wyatt Brodie. Margie is also survived by stepson, Ronnie Peeler (Sue) and dearest family friend, Charlene Tsantakis along with many beloved nieces and nephews and her many friends and caregivers at her home and The Oaks Assisted Living of Greenwood.
She was predeceased by her siblings, Edna Zastawny, Carlton Williams, Raymond Williams, Lewis Williams, Flora Condon, and Clifton Williams. She was also previously married to the late Lou Rabinowitz and James Duva.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. from the Blyth Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Oakbrook Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 9:30 to 10:45 a.m. Friday morning.
Pallbearers will be Pete Kerhoulas, Scott Trotter, Michael Brown, Carson Trotter, Jason Ray, Chris Williams, Gene Williams, Lewis Williams, George Alex Kerhoulas, and Ronnie Peeler.
