Margot Piga

Margot "Oma" Piga, 95 years young, peacefully left this world for her place over the rainbow into Heaven on April 23, 2024 into the awaiting arms of her husband, Joe and beloved daughter, Cindi.
Margot was born on August 4, 1928 in Frankfurt, Germany the daughter of the late Adam and Lina Reusswig Horle. Margot lived as a teenager through the bombings of Frankfurt and after World War II ended, she met and fell in love with an American soldier, Joseph Piga. They exchanged their vows in Frankfurt on September 7, 1947 and she arrived in the U.S.A. in October of 1947 on the Army ship, Zebulon B. Vance. They began their journey together which lasted 64 years until Joseph's death in October of 2011.
Margot, who was known by everyone as "Oma," was a loving, caring and generous woman who enjoyed sharing her knowledge, wisdom and her favorite saying "God Bless America." She loved music, especially the Doo Wop group Times Square, who she refered to as "Her Boys." Her favorite song was Bells of Rosarita. She was loved by all who knew her and she will be deeply missed. Her legacy will live on until we are all united again in Heaven.
Margot is surived by her son, Ron "Piggy" Piga and significant other, Nancy; her son-in-law, Don Nash; her grandchildren, Kristen Piga (Andy), Melissa Bowie (Terrance), Allison Mendoza (David), Ryan Nash (Kay) and Scott Nash (Joanna); her great grandchildren, Noelle, Austin, Ava, Bryce, Audrey, Maya and Evan; her nieces and nephew, Janice, Barbara, Lynn, Susan, Joann, Karen and William; she was also close to Patrick, Virginia and Erin.
Margot was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Piga in 2011, her daughter, Cindi Nash in 2004; her brother, Horst Horle; her niece and nephew, Brenda and James.
Family and friends will gather on Monday, April 29 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Riverview Funeral Home by Halvey, 2 Beekman Street, Beacon. A funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, April 30 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow in the family plot at St. Joachim Cemetery, Beacon.
Memorial donations in memory of Oma may be made to either Beacon Volunteer Ambulance Corps, Hudson Valley Hospice or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
