88, of Cranston, passed away on Saturday, February 22, 2025, at Kent Hospital, Warwick. She was the beloved wife of Robert Gambuto for nearly 60 years. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Margaret (Trainor) Petrone.
Marguerite began her professional journey as an elementary school teacher for a few years, where her passion for education shone brightly. However, it was in her role as a stay-at-home mom that she truly flourished, finding immense joy in raising her family and creating a loving home. For the past 21 years, she embraced her beloved role as Grandma with boundless enthusiasm, leaving a lasting imprint on the hearts of her grandchildren. Marguerite found happiness in a variety of hobbies and interests. She had a deep appreciation for reading and had a passion for traveling. Her culinary talents extended to both cooking and baking.
Besides her husband Robert, she is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth Gambuto and her husband Michael Conrady of Warwick, Patricia Gambuto and her husband Larry Mongeau of North Kingstown, and Michael Gambuto and his wife Tracy of Coventry. She was the cherished Grandma of Olivia, Samantha, and Michaela Conrady, Zachary, Michael, and Lily Mongeau, Alyssa, Brianna, Calleigh, and Christopher Gambuto. Sister of the late Frank “Pete” Petrone, Robert Petrone, and Richard Petrone.
Her funeral will be held on Friday, February 28th, at 10:00 a.m. from the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston, followed by her Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. in St. Kevin Church, Warwick. Burial will be held in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston. VISITING HOURS: Friday morning from 9:00-10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Marguerite’s name to Meeting Street, https://meetingstreet-bloom.kindful.com/.
