Marguerite Wilson Obituary

Marguerite "Yvonne" Wilson, 97, Gas City, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family at 6:35 pm on Tuesday, September 30, 2025. She was born in Ghlin, Belgium, on Tuesday, November 1, 1927, to Maurice and Madeleine (Thomas) Dauge.

Yvonne met her loving husband, Charles, in Mons, Belgium while he was serving in the United States Air Force. They married in 1945. Yvonne came to the United States in 1946 aboard the Santa Paula to join her husband in Gas City, and she became a citizen of the United States of America in 1951. Yvonne was an excellent cook and had worked several years at RJ Baskett Middle School making lunch for the children. She sewed, knitted, and crocheted often, and the number of "nana hats" and blankets she made was endless. Yvonne volunteered for her church, the Girl Scouts, and in anything in which her daughters were involved. Yvonne experienced much over the 97 years that God had blessed her with. She touched the lives of many with her energetic spirit and will be missed dearly.

Survivors include her daughters, Madeleine R. (Greg) Dehner of Fort Wayne, Peggy (David) Krevda of Holland, MI, Christine (Dewayne) Howell of Grabill; grandchildren, Kelly (Geoff) Zink, Stacy (Travis) Givens, Eric (Holly Hinsch) Dehner, Matthew (Amy) Krevda, Meredith (R.J.) Ceccon, Maria (Shane) Carne, Derek (Karlyn) Howell, Cara (Josh) Friend, Kyle (Maddy) Howell; twenty-three great-grandchildren, Brodey (Jessica), Emily (Taylor), Jack (Jensen), Georgia (Ethan), Samantha (Andy), Alexis (Josh), Taylor, Justin (Kayley), Ella, Ty, Juliette, James, Clayton, Corinne, Aubree, Luca, Briley, Dominik, Kapri, Deker, Madison, Avery, with two on the way; seven great-greats, Riley, Delaney, Mackenzie, Naomi, Mila, Sophia, Elaine, with one on the way; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; as well as extended family members and friends across the ocean.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Maurice and Madeleine Dauge; her husband, Charles L. Wilson; grandson, C.J. Howell; and her great-granddaughter, Jessica Weigman.

The family will receive visitors from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral & Cremation Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St, Gas City, IN with a Rosary Service at 6:00 pm.

There will be an additional hour of visitation from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass to celebrate Yvonne's life will be held at 1:00 pm on Friday, October 10, 2025, at the Holy Family Catholic Church 325 E. S. A. St., Gas City, IN. Father Kevin Hurley will be officiating with burial following at Riverside Cemetery.
