86, of Hopewell, VA, passed away on Sunday, November 23, 2025. Born on August 29, 1939, in Richmond, VA, she was the daughter of the late Harry Leigh Robertson and Katherine Mae Burgess Robertson. She was also preceded in death by her beloved husband of 44 years, Raymond Lee Burton, Sr. Margy spent more than twenty years shaping young minds as a teacher at Thomas Dale High School and Colonial Heights High School, where she taught a variety of subjects, though history always remained her favorite. In her younger years, she found joy in drag racing and golfing, and throughout her life she was a devoted animal lover, sharing her home with countless dogs, cats, and even horses. Margy and her husband also loved traveling together, visiting places across the United States-especially Key West, where her brother lived- and visiting with family throughout their journeys. She is survived by her brother, Whitt Robertson and wife, Dorcas; stepchildren, Lee Burton, Keith Burton and wife, Shawn, and Cindy Watts (Brandon); and several step grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
