Nació el 26 de agosto de 1947 en Hermosillo, Sonora, México, y falleció el 27 de octubre de 2025 en El Paso, Texas, a la edad de 78 años. La reciben en el cielo sus queridos padres Juan Madero Melo y Ana Victoria Barrios Díaz, asi como su amado nieto Dylan Lara, quien la esperaba con los brazos abiertos. Le sobreviven con amor sus hijos Jesús Lara, Cecilia Castañeda (Damián Castañeda) y Rosaura Lara; sus hermanos Jorge Madero, Juan Carlos Madero y su hermana Sandra Velazco, así como sus 6 adorados nietos, Melanye Lara, Daphne Lara, Axel Castañeda, Alan Castañeda, Alex Castañeda y Alexander Lara quienes fueron su mayor alegría. María fue una mujer alegre, fuerte y trabajadora; una verdadera guerrera. Siempre atenta y amorosa con sus hijos y nietos, se distinguía por su gran corazón y su sonrisa. Le apasionaba cocinar y deleitar a su familia con sus platillos, y disfrutaba mucho ver el fútbol americano. Su memoria vivirá por siempre en los corazones de quienes tuvieron la dicha de conocerla y amarla.
