Born January 13, 1936, Maria was the loving daughter of the late Conrad and Mary, née Mayer, Bartels; dear sister and best friend of the late Margaret Bartels and Conrad Bartels; beloved aunt of Michael (Andrea) Bartels, Cathy (Walt) Cohen, Jennifer (Paul) Budris, and Daniel Bartels; cherished great-aunt of John and Anna Marie Bartels; loving sister-in-law of Ethna Bartels; forever loyal friend to Jaime and Julianne and loving "RiRi" to Ben, Evan, and Will Arvizu. Also survived by relatives in Germany.
Maria enjoyed supporting family and friends in the Skokie community for many years.
Memorial Mass will be celebrated Friday, May 13, 2022, at 10:30 a.m., at St. Peter Church of Ss. Peter & Lambert Catholic Parish, 8100 Niles Center Rd., Skokie.
Urn Interment, St. Peter Catholic Cemetery, Skokie.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to, 8022 Lincoln Ave., Skokie, IL, 60077 (skokiecommunityfoundation.org).
