Maria Elena "Nena" Beard

Maria "Nena" Elena Beard, age 70 of Seguin, passed away on December 19, 2025. Nena was born on July 20, 1955, in El Paso, Texas, to Alicia (Provencio) and Jose Guadalupe Bustamante.

Nena is preceded in death by her parents.

Survivors include her loving husband of 52 years, John Beard; her children, Johnathan "Johnny" Beard, Genesis Mitchell and husband Richard, Becky Studer and husband Walt, and Jason Beard; grandchildren, Alyssa Beard, John Paul Beard, Madison Harris, Brandon Tomlin, Abigail Myers, Rebekah Mitchell, Isabella Studer, Sophia Studer, Tyana Macy, Bostyn Beard, Presley Beard, Charly Beard, and Brayve Beard; siblings, Ruben Bustamante, Benjamin Bustamante, Sonny Bustamante and wife Monica, Alicia Haney and husband Alan, and Norma Bustamante; numerous nieces, nephews, other loving family members and friends.

Visitation will begin on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1 p.m. followed by funeral service at 2 p.m. with Elder Freddie Hastings officiating. Interment will follow in San Geronimo Cemetery.

Serving as pallbearers will be Johnny Beard, Jason Beard, John Paul Beard, Richard Mitchell, Walt Studer and Niko Serratorubio.
