Maria T. Costa

Maria T. (Medeiros) Costa, 94, of Fall River, widow of the late Luiz Costa, passed away peacefully at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home on Sunday, March 15, 2026. Born in Agua Retorta, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Antonio Felipe Medeiros and the late Jorgelina Torres.

Maria was the epitome of "caregiver"; she was devoted to her family and dedicated her life to nurturing her grandchildren. Her unwavering love will be missed by all.

She leaves her children: Joseph Costa and his wife Katherine, of Somerset and Jorgelina Moreira and her husband Mark, of Berkley; daughter-in-law Karen Costa, of Fall River; grandchildren: Stephanie, Lindsey, Nathan, Kellie, Emily and Erin; great-grandchildren: Chase, Juniper, and Wesley; siblings: Gloria Soares, of Toronto, Berta Calmeira, of Toronto, and especially Aida Medeiros, of Fall River; and several nieces and nephews. Maria was predeceased by her son Luis M. Costa and her siblings Silveiro Medeiros, Antonio Medeiros, Luis Medeiros and Gil Torres.

Relatives and Friends are invited to attend her Calling Hours to be held in Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford Street, Fall River, on Thursday, March 19, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Her Funeral will be held on Friday, March 20, 2026, at 9:00 am from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St, Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be offered St. Anthony of Padua at 10:00 am. Committal Service and interment will follow in St. Patrick Cemetery.
