Maria Garcia Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Muffley Funeral Home Inc. from Jan. 16 to Jan. 17, 2026.
Maria Christine Garcia, age 75, of Clovis, NM, passed away on Wednesday, January 14, 2026, in Clovis, NM. Rosary will be recited on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at 10:00 am with a memorial mass to follow at 10:30 am at Our Lady of Guadalupe Church, 108 Davis Street, with Eli Valadez officiating.

Maria was born on June 9, 1950, to Delfido Garcia and Maria Ascension Lopez Garcia in Santa Rosa, NM.

"They say that nursing is the hardest job you'll ever love, and my mother proved that every day for over three decades. For 33 years, she was the calm in the storm for thousands of families. She chose a life of service, often putting the needs of her patients above her own, driven by a genuine love for humanity. Her career wasn't defined by shifts or charts, but by the hands she held and the lives she saved. She was a hero in scrubs, and her transition from this life leaves a void that can only be filled by the love she gave so freely to her patients.

She liked making jewelry and baking when she was younger. Maria enjoyed her career as a LPN/LVN for over 33 years.

Survivors include her son; Steve Garcia (Evelyn) of Clovis, NM, daughter; Traci Lynn Marquez (Michael) of Clovis, NM, three sisters; Maria Cardenas of Rio Rancho, NM, Merlinda Dominguez of Clovis, NM, and Viola (Cloudy) Gallegos (Richard) both of Ft. Worth, TX. She had four grandchildren; Ben Tyler Garcia (Julia) Christian Garcia (Allen Forre), Precious Garcia, Hunter Garcia. She had two great grandchildren, Ben Xenxo Garcia, and Jessica Garcia, numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Delfido Garcia and Maria Ascension Lopez Garcia, brother; Rolondo Garcia, and sister; Diana Martinez, niece Mary Reid. and nephew Patrick Cardenas.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home, www.muffleyfuneralhome.com, (575)762-4435.
