Ms. Gudiño passed peacefully in the presence of her loving family on November 8, 2025, at her home in Kemp, Texas.
Maria Natividad Gudiño, lovingly known as Mom and Wella, was born December 24, 1933, in Lockhart, Texas the daughter of Benigno Jaramillo and Blasa (Vega) Jaramillo. She was small in stature, and mighty in goodness. Maria was the glue that held her family together with love, traditions, and most importantly prayer. She was a devoted wife to the late Baltazar Gudino, and together they built a beautiful life and family. Maria was a homemaker in the truest sense - her love was sewn into every stitch of clothing and the blankets she made, every meal she cooked, and every prayer she lifted up for her family. She spent most of her life in Pleasant Grove, where her home was always full of warmth, laughter, and the smell of something good cooking. She was known for her deep Catholic faith, sense of humor, and her unwavering love for her family. She was a member of the Mary Queen of Heaven Catholic Church in Malakoff and loved spending most of her time outdoors gardening and growing flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband Baltazar T. Gudiño; three brothers, Cristoba Jaramillo, Jose Jaramillo, Venancio Jaramillo and one sister Luz Gomez.
Maria leaves behind her children, Rosalinda Gilbreath and husband Byron of Kemp, Estela Belinda Kohlmeier and husband Jay Sr., of Kemp, Baltazar Gudiño Jr. and wife Regina of San Antonio, Adrian Gudiño of Mesquite; one sister Felipa Ramos of Balch Springs. She was a proud grandmother to Christopher Michael Lamb and wife Solinda, John Paul Lamb and wife Shalynn, Sarah Marie Lamb, Jay Alan Kohlmeier II and wife Joelie, Priscilla Gudiño, Jasmine Gudiño, Gabriel Gudiño, August Gudiño and great grandchildren, Ian, Ayden, Levi, Callum, Rylan, Cashden, Harper, Isabella, Hayes and Mary Katherine. She was also an honorary grandmother to many as her love and care knew no limits. To know her was to be loved by her. Her legacy lives on in the family she poured her heart into. She will be deeply missed and truly forever cherished.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jay Alan Kohlmeier II, Christopher Michael Lamb, John Paul Lamb, Rylan Paul Lamb, Adrian Gudiño and Baltazar Gudiño Jr.
Visitation will be held from 5-7:00 p.m. with a Catholic Rosary at 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 10, 2025, at the Hannigan Smith Funeral Home in Athens.
