Maria Lucrecia Lara, (nee Cevallos), 96, of Paramus, formerly of West New York, passed away on Friday, January 3, 2025. Before retiring, Maria was a Book Binder for Johansen's Book Bindery. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph's of the Palisades in West New York.
Cherished wife of the late Jaime Alfredo Lara (2003). Devoted mother of Jaime A. Lara and his wife Patricia, Patricia Bastian and her husband William, Amy Lara-Lowrey and her husband Warren, Charles Lara and his wife June, and Martin Lara. Beloved grandmother, lovingly known as Mimi, to Monique Gaydos and her husband John, Lisa Derbalian and her husband Avo, William Bastian and his wife Shannon, David Bastian, Ian Lowrey and his wife Roberta, Jaime Leigh Sanderson and her husband Bruce, Evan Lowrey and his wife Gina, Jenna Lara and her fiancé Brandon Torrado, Jacqueline Lara, Jacob Lara and great-grandchildren Jon Marco, Mia Isabella, Jacob, Cristian, Leila, Jordan, Kendall, Noah, Mikaila, Elijah, Ella, Delilah, and Mackenzie.
Family will receive extended family and friends on Wednesday, January 8, 2025 from 3:00 pm - 7:00 pm at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, 113 South Farview Avenue, Paramus, NJ. Funeral Service will be held at 10:15 am on Thursday, January 9, 2025, at the Vander Plaat Memorial Home, followed by a 11:00 am Funeral Mass at St. Peter the Apostle Roman Catholic Church, 445 Fifth Avenue, River Edge. Cremation will be private.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Maria's memory may be made to Alzheimer's Association, Greater New Jersey Chapter, 23 Vreeland Road Suite 105, Florham Park, NJ 07932.
