Pawtucket - Maria Margarida (Galvao) Ledo, 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones on Tuesday, September 2, 2025. She was the beloved wife of the late Enio A. Ledo. Born in Portugal, she was the daughter of the late Manuel and Ilda (Degloria) Galvao. Maria Margarida immigrated to the United States in 1980 and settled in Pawtucket. She leaves her daughters, Edalga Arraial (Antonio), Olga Londono, Ilda Moniz-Deak (Albert), Maura Bouvier, Paula Migneault (Frank), Sonia Ledo (Crystal), Mariana Carroll (John); grandchildren, Andrew, Shawn, Matthew, Shantel, Thomas, Jacob, Sabrina, Courtney and Caitlin; great-grandchildren, Lana, Logan, Anastasia, Elena, Ava, Luca, Landen, Daxton, Lorenzo and one on the way, Amelia. She was the sister of Manuel Galvao, Carlos Galvao, Mario Galvao, Natividade Paiva, Fernando Galvao, Goretti Galvao and the late Jose Luis Galvao, and Lizette Sousa. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. Maria Margarida Ledo was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She created a warm and loving home open to all. She made everyone feel welcome, cherished and loved. She was an extraordinary cook and baker, her holiday meals and "Sunday Soup" brought the whole family together and were a cherished family tradition. Margarida was a talented seamstress making numerous outfits for her family throughout the years. She also loved to spend numerous hours tending to her flowers and gardens. Margarida will be truly missed and always fondly remembered. Her funeral will be held on Saturday, September 6, 2025, at 9 a.m. from WILLIAM W. TRIPP Funeral Home, 1008 Newport Ave., Pawtucket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at St. Cecilia Church of St. John Paul II Parish, 755 Central Ave., Pawtucket. Interment will follow at Mt. St. Mary Cemetery, Pawtucket.
