Maria Marques

Maria Adelina Marques, 81, of Fall River, wife of the late Manuel C. Marques and the late Jose Medeiros, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 8, 2025 at Sarah Brayton Nursing Home following a long illness.

Born in Agua de Pau, St. Michael, Azores, she was a daughter of the late Jose Victorino DaCosta Teves and the late Sofia (Morgado) Teves.

Prior to her retirement, she worked in the local textile industry as a seamstress for many years. She enjoyed traveling, sewing, and cooking with her family.

She leaves her step-children, Michael Medeiros of DeLand, Florida, Peter Marques and his wife, Natasha, of Dartmouth, Massachusetts, Brenda Marques of Bridgewater, New Jersey, and Kevin Marques and his wife, Janet Rodriguez, of Fall River, Massachusetts; her siblings, Jose Fernando DaCosta (Margarida), Stella Teves (Emmanuel), both of Fall River, Dennis Teves (Vadalia) of Acushnet, and Adrian o Teves of Vermont; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Manuel Teves (Esaltina), David Teves (Belmira), Eduardo Teves (Zelia), John Teves (Ester), and Anthony Teves.

Her Funeral will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 at 9:00 AM from the Silva-Faria Funeral Home, 730 Bedford St., Fall River, with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated in St. Anthony of Padua Church at 10:00 AM. Her visitation will take place on Sunday, December 14, 2025 in the Silva-Faria Funeral Home from 4-6 PM. She will be laid to rest alongside her late husband in St. Patrick's Cemetery.
