Maria Miano-Siciliano Obituary

Maria Miano-Siciliano, 87, of Scranton's Green Ridge section, died Sunday morning at home with her granddaughter, Nicole at her side. She was preceded in death by husbands, Henry Miano Sr. and William Siciliano.

Born Jan. 31, 1936, in Italy, she was the daughter of the late Michael and Elena Staffa Santoro. She was a former resident of Setauket, N.Y., and was a devout Catholic. Maria loved her culture, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. Most of all she loved her family with her whole heart.

She is survived by two sons, Henry Miano Jr. and wife, Regina of Stony Brook, N.Y., and Paul Miano and wife, Debbie of East Meadow, N.Y.; her son-in-law, Ralph Doerrie of Lake Ariel; 10 grandchildren, Mark, Nicole, Michael, Dina, Tiana, Christopher, Samantha, Justine, Robby and Paul; four great-grandchildren, Myla, Maeve, Eloise and Sienna.

She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Tina Doerrie; and a sister, Ada Arso.

The funeral will be Friday from the John F. Glinsky Funeral Home, 445 Sanderson St., Throop, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. at St. Ann's Basilica, 1233 St. Ann's St., Scranton. Interment, Dunmore Cemetery. Viewing hours will be held Thursday from 4 to 7 p.m.
