Maria Munoz Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hughes Funeral Homes - Oak Cliff Chapel - Dallas on Oct. 1, 2025.
María Socorro Muñoz died peacefully at her home at the age of 95 surrounded by her family.
She, our mother, was born in Tlachichila, Zacatecas on August 18, 1930. Her parents were José Guadalupe García and Martina Ramírez. She was the youngest of two sisters. At 17 years of age she married her lifetime partner, Jesús Muñoz. María Socorro Muñoz was a spouse and mother who dedicated herself to her family. During a complicated time in her life when she was suffering from a serious illness, she promised God that if He allowed her to live, she would do so by dedicating her life to loving Him and to educating her children in the Catholic faith. God granted her wish, awarding her a long life, a life that became a great testament of love and service to her family and to her peers.
María Socorro Muñoz was a woman full of joy, considerable faith, and devotion. The legacy that our mother left us, her children, and all of her descendants, was her great love for God. She delighted in dancing and in singing hymns to God, and she was the pillar and heart of our home. We miss her contagious joy, great generosity, and kindness. While her absence has left a significant void in our lives, her memory strengthens us. We are filled with joy when remembering what she herself taught us through her life's testimony: to place all of our trust, faith, and hope on the promise of a God who never fails. He remains with us always until the end of time. Through faith, we trust that our mother looks upon us from above. We will remember her always with the utmost love and affection.
María Socorro Muñoz was preceded in death by her husband, Jesús Muñoz; parents, José Guadalupe García and Martina Ramírez; sister, Consuelo Díaz; grandchildren, Adolfo Ruiz, Jr., Daniel Ruiz, Maribell Muñoz; puppy Toby.
She is survived by her children, Jesús Manuel Muñoz, Jorge Muñoz, Julio Cesar Muñoz, Juan José Muñoz, María del Rosario Ayala, Margarita Aguirre, Ma. Concepción Ruiz, Teresa García, Alma López, Paula Romero, Irma Peña, Sandra Luz Muñoz, Marta Aranda, Yadira Treviño, and many other loving family and friends.
