Maria Neudorff Obituary

She was born in Aschaffenburg, Germany on January 03, 1948, to the late Johann Anton and Martina Katharina Sturm. She met her handsome, wonderful soldier in Germany and got married on March 9, 1966. She worked over 35 years as a Real Estate Broker and in addition, the last 20 years of her working career as a Certified Residential Real Estate Appraiser. She enjoyed working in the real estate field where she met many great friends which she was grateful for.
Maria loved her family and especially enjoyed the yearly Christmas Eve family gatherings at her house. After her retirement, she was taken to the more simple gifts of life as reading the morning paper with a good cup of coffee, working in the yard with the sound and calmness of nature with her always loyal doggie, Valley, by her side, listening to easy instrumental music and reflecting on the life she was able to enjoy.
In addition to her mother and father, she was preceded in death by her baby sister, Martina.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her husband, Jim, of 55 years; her son, Daniel Neudorff and wife Katrina of Stedman; her daughter, Denise Neudorff and her husband Steve Griffith of Raeford; four grandchildren, six great grandchildren plus three brothers with two sisters-in-law and family in Germany.
At Maria's request, a private celebration will be held. She would love for her friends to remember her smiling and laughing with an "Aufwieder Sehen" (until we meet again).
In lieu of flowers, Maria requests donations be made to the Fayetteville VA for Volunteer Services for Recreational Therapy.

My husband just asked me who is my favorite neighbor growing up. Maria immediately came to my mind. I haven´t talked to her in so many years after I married and moved to Charlotte. She was my favorite neighbor in Fayetteville on Butternut Drive. She live right across the street from my mom. I remember her always smiling and so pleasant. She was actually a bridesmaid in my wedding in 1976. I looked up her name and was really sad that she´s gone. I would have tried to go see her. I remember how much she loved Jim and her children. Jim was also such a kind man and you could tell that they loved each other very much. Till we meet again, Maria. Love, Dorthy Taylor Mathis (Martha, Grubb´s daughter)
