Maria Rosario Perez, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully on January 4, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones. Born in Potrerillos, Michoacán, Maria lived a life full of courage, joy, and adventure.
She spent most of her early years in La Piedad, Michoacán, where she was fondly known as "Doña Chayo." A cherished and well-loved presence in the Barrio de San Andrés, she was known for her warmth, kindness, and ability to make everyone feel welcome.
A devoted mother of nine, seven of whom remain to cherish her memory, Maria was the heart and soul of her family. Her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren brought her endless happiness, and she in turn filled their lives with love, laughter, and unwavering support.
Maria was a true social butterfly, making friends wherever she went. She was notorious for asking, "¿De dónde es usted?" hoping to discover a connection to Mexico-and even when the answer wasn't Mexico, she always found a reason to strike up a conversation. A chatterbox at heart, Maria was full of stories, jokes, and laughter, bringing joy to everyone around her.
She loved to travel, explore new places, and often test her luck at the casino, always embracing life with boldness and enthusiasm. Maria lived fully, feared nothing, and cherished every moment with the people she loved.
Though two of her children have already joined her in eternal rest, Maria's spirit remains vibrant in the hearts and prayers of those who survive her. She will now reunite in eternal rest with her beloved husband, who passed before her. Together again, they live on in the memories and faith of their family.
