In Loving Memory of Maria Esperanza Reyes Ochoa
April 2, 1932 – November 7, 2025
"Her kindness was her strength, her faith was her guide, and her love was her greatest gift."
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Maria Esperanza Reyes Ochoa, passed away peacefully
on November 7, 2025, at the age of 93.
Maria was born on April 2, 1932, to Felicidad Vitan Reyes and Juan Reyes, who raised her with faith,
compassion, and strength-values she carried with her throughout her life.
A woman of remarkable courage and devotion, Maria raised her five children-Corazon Ochoa; Elizabeth Thumann and
her husband, Henry; David Antonio Ochoa and his wife, Deanna; Pete Ochoa and his wife, Yukari; and Robert Reyes
Ochoa and his wife, Sherry-with unwavering love and strength. On her own, she built a home filled with care, faith, and
laughter. Through tireless effort, she kept her family united, her love serving as the steady foundation that carried them
through every joy and challenge.
Maria was a deeply religious woman and an active member of St. Paul of the Cross Church, where she found
strength and purpose in her faith and in serving her community. Her kindness and generosity touched
countless lives-she was always ready with a comforting word, a helping hand, or a prayer for those in need.
She is survived by her devoted sister, Jesusa Eguia; her cherished children; and her loving
grandchildren-Anna and her husband, Jason; Camille; Nathan; Christina and her husband, Mike; Daniel; and
Rose-as well as her great-grandchildren, Emma, Allie, and Lily, and many nieces and nephews who were the
pride and joy of her life.
Maria is preceded in death by her parents and her siblings, Sofronio Reyes, Jose Reyes, Agapita Siders, Basilio
V. Reyes, Juliarita Reyes, and Juan Reyes Jr., who now welcome her into eternal peace.
Maria will always be remembered for her gentle heart, her quiet strength, and the endless love she gave to
her family. She taught those around her the importance of kindness, faith, and perseverance. Her memory will
forever live in the hearts of those who love her.
She is greatly loved and deeply missed.
Her children and family honor her life and the legacy of love she leaves behind.
A Celebration of Life
Family and friends are invited to celebrate Maria's life and honor her memory. Together, we will share stories,
prayers, and gratitude for the beautiful life she lived and the love she gave so freely.
Though she is no longer with us in body, her spirit remains ever-present-in our hearts, in our laughter, and in
the lessons, she taught us about faith and kindness.
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures:
He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restoreth my soul."
- Psalm 23:1–3
May her soul rest in the peace and light of God's eternal love.
