Maria Luisa Rodriguez (née Infante) was born on August 10, 1941, in Linares, Nuevo León, Mexico. She passed away surrounded by love and family. Maria Luisa was married for 60 years to her beloved husband, Aurelio Rodriguez. Together, they built a life rooted in love, family, and resilience. In 1970, they moved to Chicago and eventually settled in Bolingbrook in 1977, where they have lived ever since. Maria Luisa and Aurelio did everything together. Whether it was cheering on the Cubs, gardening, entertaining guests, or taking peaceful walks, their bond was evident to all who knew them. She was also a devoted parishioner at St. Dominic Catholic Church in Bolingbrook until her mobility challenges made attendance difficult. Maria Luisa was preceded in death by her parents, Antonio Infante and María Luisa Infante-Hernández, and five of her six siblings: Antonio Infante, Guillermo Infante, María del Carmen Tamez, Jorge Infante, and Pedro Infante (died at birth). She is survived by her dear sister, Blanca Estela Montelongo-Infante. Above all, Maria Luisa's greatest joy was her family. She was a devoted mother to Marco (Joanne), Angel, and Claudia (Tim Swick, partner). She was a loving and present grandmother to Daniel Wooton, Cameron Rodriguez, and Julia Rodriguez, all of whom adored her deeply. Affectionately known as "Ita" (short for Abuelita), she played a vital role in their upbringing, and each of her grandchildren shared a unique and cherished bond with her, especially in her final days. Diagnosed with Parkinson's disease 17 years ago, Maria Luisa faced her illness with grace and unwavering determination. "I will not die of Parkinson's, I will die with it," she often said- and she did just that, maintaining her dignity, presence, and fighting spirit until the very end. Maria Luisa was known for her warmth, her elegance, and the deep love she gave freely to her family and friends. She had a timeless style and a quiet strength that will continue to inspire those who knew her. The family is deeply grateful for the support and love of the extended family, neighbors, and friends who surrounded her with care. The family wants to give special recognition for the steadfast care that Claudia provided to her mother. For the past several years, Claudia committed her time and resources to ensuring her mom's quality of life took priority. It is because of her love and support that everyone had as much time with Maria Luisa as they did. Additionally, the family is grateful for the UChicago Medicine Advent Health Bolingbrook Hospital and the Adventist St. Thomas Hospice teams for their compassion during Maria Luisa's final days. We are grateful. We will forever cherish the gift of her presence, her laughter, and the memories we made together. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and grace. Family & Friends will gather at St. Dominc Catholic Church, 440 E. Briarcliff Road, Bolingbrook, IL. for Mass of the Resurrection on Saturday, October 4th, 2025, at 12:00pm. Calling hours (Visitation) will be held after mass from 2-6 pm on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at McCauley-Sullivan Funeral Home, 530 W. Boughton Road, Bolingbrook, IL 60440. Interment Private

Yesterday

I have very fond memories of the Rodriguezes while growing up. She was very sweet and an incredible cook. She loved my parents very much and was very consoling when my Mom passed away. I pray for the repose of her soul and for the comfort of her family.
