Maria Roumbakis, 90, of Fitchburg, Massachusetts, passed away peacefully at home on Monday, February 9, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Maria was born in Greece on August 19, 1935, the daughter of Evangelos and Evangelia Poutous. She later came in 1969 to the United States with her beloved husband, Kostantinos, in pursuit of the American dream with their three sons.Together they built a life rooted in hard work, faith, and devotion to family, raising their three sons and operating a dry cleaning business in Brooklyn, New York.

Maria was a devoted member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Fitchburg. Her faith was central to her life, and she found her greatest joy in prayer, tradition, and time spent with her family. She will be remembered for her strength, warmth, generosity, and deep love for her children and grandchildren.

She leaves behind her three sons: Manny Roumbakis and his wife Patricia; Evangelos Roumbakis and his wife Loula; and Michael Roumbakis and his wife Silvy; as well as her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother, Pete Poutous and his wife Soula; her sister-in-law, Dimitra Poutous; and many loving nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kostantinos Roumbakis; her brother, Mihali Poutous; her sister, Kiki Mpezantakos and her husband Stephanos; and her daughter-in-law, Catherine Roumbakis.

Maria’s love, faith, and legacy will live on through her family and all who were blessed to know her.

Calling Hours will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026 from 10:00-11:00AM at the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, 1319 Main St., #1, Fitchburg, MA. A Service will follow at 11:00 AM.

The Burial will follow the service at Forest Hill Cemetery, 115 Mt. Elam Rd., Fitchburg, MA
