Maria Tereschchenko, age 89, passed away peacefully with her daughter by her side on March 11, 2026 after battling heart failure.
Maria was the youngest of three siblings. She is preceded in death by her brother and sister, Victor and Yanina.
She was born on October 18, 1936 and grew up during World War II and the Famine of Ukraine in 1946, which was not easy. She was lovingly nicknamed Maria ‘Manusya’ in the family. She was taught resilience and strength that she carried throughout her life. She became a very successful manager for financial services. Over the course of her career, she even became a Chief Financial Officer in one of the construction companies she managed in Ukraine.
In 1999 Maria moved with her family to the United States. She continued working as a devoted caregiver to elderly folks in the Senior Center. She enjoyed helping take care of the people she came to call her friends.
While she wasn’t busy working or taking care of her family, Maria enjoyed reading, especially books by Danielle Steel. She has read over 800 of her books. Maria also enjoyed cross word puzzles in her spare time.
She is the beloved wife of Pavlo; cherished mother of Gallina and Tatyana; loving grandmother of Olena. Maria will be laid to rest on Friday, March 13, 2026 at 1pm at Holy Trinity Cemetery.
