Maria Antonia Urena

Maria Antonia Ureña, 61, of Wethersfield, passed away peacefully at her home on December 21, 2024. She was the beloved wife of Guillermo DeJesus Perez, with whom she shared a beautiful life since 1987. Maria devoted her entire life to Guillermo, loving him deeply and caring for him with extraordinary dedication. Their love was the foundation of their family, and her unwavering commitment to him was a testament to the strength of their bond.
Born on August 17, 1963, in the Dominican Republic, Maria was the daughter of Maria Felix Marmolejos and the late Jesus Maria Ureña. She had lived in Wethersfield for 18 years and was a devoted member of Maria Reina de la Paz, St. Lawrence O'Toole Church in Hartford. Maria's creativity and passion as an interior designer and party planner enhanced countless family celebrations, from weddings to birthday parties and more. She was also a very talented seamstress, known for her extraordinary skill and attention to detail. Maria's artistry with a needle and thread enriched the lives of her loved ones, as she created beautiful, one-of-a-kind pieces that will forever be cherished.
Maria was renowned for her exceptional cooking, which brought her family together around the table. She had a deep love for travel, especially her visits back to the Dominican Republic, where her heart always felt at home. Above all, she was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend whose warmth and generosity touched everyone she knew. Her family was her pride and joy, and her memory will live on in their hearts forever.
Maria's memory will be cherished by her husband, Guillermo, and her children: Jeffrey Perez and his wife Lourdes, Ronald Perez and his wife Gabriela Madrid, Christian Perez and his wife Jessica, Joel Perez and his wife Zoilany, and her daughter Ashley Perez. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Ayden, Jayden, and Jacob Perez; Yadeliz and Jeremy Perez; Alonso Perez; and Leo Antonio Perez. Maria is also survived by her mother, Maria Felix Marmolejos; her siblings: Marisol Ureña, Elizabeth Ureña, Milagros Ureña, Gilberto Ureña, Ivelise Ureña, and Amauri Antonio Ureña; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was predeceased by her beloved grandson, Sebastian Perez, who remains forever in the family's hearts.
Family and friends are invited to gather for visitation on Thursday, December 26, 2024, from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. at the Duksa Family Funeral Home at Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, December 27, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Maria Reina de la Paz, St. Lawrence O'Toole Church, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford, CT 06106. All are asked to meet directly at the church. Following the Mass, Maria will be laid to rest in the mausoleum at Cedar Hill Cemetery, Hartford.

Maria Antonia Ureña, de 61 años, de Wethersfield, falleció pacíficamente en su hogar el 21 de Diciembre de 2024. Fue la amada esposa de Guillermo De Jesús Pérez, con quien compartió una hermosa vida desde 1987. María dedicó toda su vida a Guillermo, amándolo profundamente y cuidándolo con extraordinaria dedicación. Su amor fue el pilar de su familia, y su inquebrantable compromiso con él fue un testimonio de la fortaleza de su unión.
Nacida el 17 de Agosto de 1963 en la República Dominicana, María era hija de María Félix Marmolejos y el fallecido Jesús María Ureña. Vivió en Wethersfield durante 18 años y fue miembro devoto de Maria Reina de la Paz, Iglesia St. Lawrence O'Toole en Hartford. La creatividad y pasión de María como diseñadora de interiores y organizadora de eventos enriquecieron innumerables celebraciones familiares, desde bodas hasta fiestas de cumpleaños y más. También era una costurera muy talentosa, conocida por su extraordinaria habilidad y atención al detalle. El arte de María con la aguja y el hilo enriqueció las vidas de sus seres queridos, creando piezas únicas y hermosas que siempre serán atesoradas.
María fue conocida por su excepcional habilidad en la cocina, reuniendo a su familia alrededor de la mesa. Amaba profundamente viajar, especialmente sus visitas a la República Dominicana, donde siempre sentía que estaba en casa. Sobre todo, fue una madre, abuela, hija, hermana, tía y amiga amorosa y devota, cuya calidez y generosidad tocaron a todos los que la conocieron. Además, María deja a su adorada madre, María Félix Marmolejos; sus hermanos: Marisol Ureña, Elizabeth Ureña, Milagros Ureña, Gilberto Ureña, Ivelise Ureña y Amauri Antonio Ureña; y numerosos sobrinos, sobrinas y primos. Fue precedida en la muerte por su amado nieto, Sebastián Pérez, quien permanece para siempre en los corazones de la familia.
Familiares y amigos están invitados a reunirse para el velatorio el Jueves 26 de Diciembre de 2024, de 5:00 a 9:00 p.m., en la funeraria Duksa Family Funeral Home en Newington Memorial, 20 Bonair Ave., Newington.
Se celebrará una misa de cuerpo presente el Viernes 27 de Diciembre de 2024, a las 11:00 a.m., en Maria Reina de la Paz, Iglesia St. Lawrence O'Toole, 494 New Britain Ave., Hartford, CT 06106. Se pide a todos que se reúnan directamente en la iglesia. Después de la misa, María será sepultada en el mausoleo del Cementerio Cedar Hill, Hartford.
