Maria Teresa Vasquez, 73, beloved mother, grandmother, aunt, great-aunt, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on November 17, 2025 in San Antonio, Texas.

She was born on September 25, 1952 in Toledo, Ohio to Manuel and Petra (Ruiz) Vasquez. Maria Teresa Vasquez raised her only son, Rene Vasquez, whom she loved and cherished very much.

She lived in Toledo most of her life, then moved to Adrian, Michigan in 1992 where she was employed with Delphi Automotive for many years. In 2008, she moved to San Antonio and was employed with the NISD school systems for several years, then a caregiver her last 11 years in San Antonio. She especially liked her caregiver role, as she loved taking care of people.

In her spare time, she enjoyed watching Jimmy Swaggert sermons, Little House on the Prairie and listening to music; Praise & Worship and Tejano sounds. A big Ohio State Buckeye fan, she also loved watching football.

Maria will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

She is survived by her siblings Susie Clark, Rufina Pena, Gloria Vasquez, Linda Berlanga, Rita Nieto & John Vasquez.

She was preceded in death by her parents Petra (Ruiz) Vasquez in 1981, Manuel Vasquez in 1999, and siblings Beatrice Vasquez, Manuel Vasquez, David Vasquez, Rebecca Johnson, Consuelo Vasquez, Angel Vasquez & Manuela Cuellar (her best friend).

The family will do a Celebration of Life on Thanksgiving Day 2025 in San Antonio, Texas, then a Memorial service where her cremations will be laid to rest next to her mother and father, will be held in Toledo, Ohio sometime in May or June of 2026.
